An introduction...

Welcome to my first ever blog attempt.  I've created this blog to help our friends and family stay connected with us while we move to Okinawa Japan.  I also spent hours pouring over other people's blogs to help familiarize myself with what life on Okinawa will be like for us, so hopefully I can pay it forward and help another info seeking military spouse.

Let me introduce our family.  My husband Brandon is in the United States Navy.  He is just finishing up a 3 year Periodontics residency program and Okinawa will be his first assignment as a Periodontist.

We have two kids.  An 8 year-old daughter named Reagan who is sweet and quiet around others, but goofy and loud at home :).  We also have a 3 month old little boy named Brock who is a very happy baby with lots of smiles.

I'm Jill, a work-from-home military wife who is excited about this new adventure we are about to undertake.  I will admit that this move has been at times overwhelming and exhausting, but I am looking forward to it nonetheless.

So, we are about 5 days away from the first group of movers coming to our house to pack us up.  The move is broken into different groups, storage, household goods, unaccompanied baggage and the stuff we are taking with us on the plane.  Right now my house has been reorganized into each of these groups.  I've tried to move as much of each category into one space so that the movers don't get things in the wrong shipments.
